An auto parts store where the first question is always "does it fit my car?", answered before the customer has to ask.
The challenge
Auto parts are the hardest kind of e-commerce: tens of thousands of SKUs, each fitting some vehicles and not others, and a customer who will not buy until they are sure. Add shipping across Australia and a market that compares prices in seconds, and the store has to be both precise and quick.
What we built
We built the storefront around vehicle fitment: choose make, model and year once and every listing filters to what fits. Category and product pages were structured for search engines as much as shoppers, checkout was streamlined for repeat trade buyers, and shipping and payment were set up for Australian carriers and gateways. Performance work keeps large category pages fast on a phone.
The result
- Fitment-first search removes the biggest reason auto parts get returned
- Category pages built to rank for part and vehicle searches
- Australian shipping, tax and payments set up correctly from day one
- A catalogue structure that copes with constant stock and price changes
