Construction

A measured, technical site for builders and main contractors — projects with their real value, duration and floor area, a build programme you write as plain text, and an enquiry form that asks whether drawings and planning exist.

What you get

  • Projects with their real numbers — value, duration, floor area, procurement route
  • A blank field is left OUT of the spec table, never printed empty
  • Every figure on the page set in a monospaced face — the numbers are the argument
  • A build programme from enquiry to handover, written as plain lines of text
  • Sectors with project counts against each one
  • Team with their current cards and tickets; anyone with none is flagged in your dashboard
  • Tender enquiry form that asks how far along the drawings and planning are
  • Enquiries marked "Can price" or "Early stage" so estimators triage from the list
  • Accreditation section ships EMPTY and stays hidden until you fill it in
  • GeneralContractor schema, plus Google FAQ markup from your own questions
  • Prints properly — a client who prints it gets the project record, not the pictures
  • Right-to-left ready for Arabic, Urdu and Farsi content
  • Zero third-party requests — no web fonts, no icon fonts, no CDN

About this design

A one-page site for main contractors, builders, fit-out firms and civils, aimed at projects between roughly £100k and £6m. The visitor is a client comparing three contractors or an architect deciding who goes on a tender list — not a passer-by.

The design decision that drives everything else is a second typeface. Every number on the page is set in a monospaced companion face: contract values, durations, floor areas, sheet references. That is not styling for its own sake — construction is the one trade where the numbers ARE the argument, and a column of figures in even-width digits reads as a record rather than as marketing.

Projects carry their value, duration, floor area, procurement route and completion date. The rule that matters is what happens to a blank: a field you leave empty is OMITTED from the table rather than printed as a dash. Clients routinely refuse permission to publish a contract value, and a table showing "Value: —" reads as though you are hiding something where a shorter table reads as a complete record.

The enquiry form is a tender enquiry, not a booking. It asks the type of work, the budget band, the target start — and the question that actually decides anything: how far along are the drawings and planning? Answers that mean you can price this week are flagged "Can price" in your dashboard and the rest are flagged "Early stage", so an estimator triages from the list instead of opening twelve emails.

One thing it deliberately will not do: there is nowhere to put client logos and nowhere to upload accreditation badges. Client logos on contractor sites are mostly used without permission. Scheme marks are worse — CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor and the rest licence their logos to current members only, and displaying one you are not registered with gets firms removed from tender lists. So accreditations are text you type, they ship blank, and the section stays hidden from the public until you fill it in. Name the scheme and give your registration number: a client who cares will look you up on the register, which beats a badge anyone can right-click.
